Michael William Henry

Michael William Henry of Caro, age 58, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at his home. Mike was born March 9, 1961 in Caro, the son of Virginia (Vollmar) Henry and the late Carlaroy Henry. He graduated from Caro High School in 1979 and was united in marriage a few months later to Sherry Brinkman on October 6, 1979. Mike began his working career at Kroger in Caro before moving to Fort Myers, Florida to manage a department store there. Next, he took a position with the Wolohan Lumber Company that took him to South Carolina, Indiana, and Grand Rapids. In 1995, Mike and his family returned to Caro where he began a long career with Wickes Lumber, now Builders FirstSource, and was a respected and award-winning cabinet designer. He was also a bus driver for Caro Community Schools, served as a Caro Village and City Councilman for twenty years and as the city's Mayor Pro Tem. Mike loved his family limitlessly and enjoyed time spent with them playing games. He was an avid Michigan State fan, liked motorcycle riding, tactical shooting, gardening, traveling, woodworking, and craft building. He will be remembered as a dedicated servant to the Caro community. Mike is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Sherry Henry of Caro; four children and their spouses, Tara & Jacob Guigear of Mt. Morris, Breana & Cody Sehl of Caro, Andrea Henry of Mt. Pleasant, Austin Henry and his fianc, Erin Lawson, of Caro; three grandchildren, Eve Guigear, Adalynn and Mackenzie Sehl; his mother, Virginia Becker and her husband, Robert, of Unionville; siblings and their spouses, Nancy & Gene Curtis of Oregon, Patrick & Debby Henry of Florida, Carla & Kenneth Bieber of East Lansing; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the Caro United Methodist Church with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro.
