Michael H. Isbister

August 23, 1952 — July 17, 2013

Michael H. Isbister, age 60 of Bad Axe, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon at his home while sitting in his backyard.

He was born August 23, 1952 in Port Huron to the late Henry and Rosemary (O’Neil) Isbister. After graduating from Port Huron High School, he went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics from St Clair County Community College.

On September 7, 1983, he was united in marriage to Marie E. Glasgow in Port Huron. In 1986, they moved to Bad Axe, where he started his own business building and marketing picnic tables, lawn furniture and accent pieces. He has sold them many years at the Port Austin Farmers Market and recently opened a store in the old level factory.

Mike attended the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church and was current Master of the Hubbard-Winsor Lodge #420 Free and Accepted Mason, Pigeon.

Surviving are his wife Marie, and two sons, Kenneth (Beverly) Isbister of Frankfort, KY and Kevin (Jamie Nitz) Isbister of Sebewaing; grandchildren, Shanna (Ray( Pettibone, Nick Clouse, Bob Clouse; great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Pettibone all of KY; sisters, Ethel (Ramon) Ford III and Carol (Steve) Helmreich all of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters-in-law, Sarah (Walt) Wilson of Bad Axe, Mary Jane (Paul) Burnett of Aurora, MO Kathaleen (Jeffrey) Glasgow Shanno of Crane, MO
and brother-in-law, Samuel (Elizabeth) Glasgow of Bad Axe; plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or funeral services. Interment will be in New River Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
