Michael Anthony Justice of St. Clair Shores, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 3, 2026. Fittingly, Mike spent his final moments in the place he loved most, the up-north woods. He was born on July 3, 1968, in Royal Oak, the son of the late John and Rosemarie (Palise) Justice.
Mike discovered a love and natural ability for football at a young age. As he grew, so did his talent for the game, and by high school, his abilities on the field had caught the attention of both college and professional scouts.
Throughout his life, Mike became a man of many trades, picking up countless skills through hard work and experience. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also became skilled in welding, roofing, and contract work. At just seventeen years old, he began working for a welding company and later held a variety of jobs, including work for American Axle. Perhaps one of his most memorable endeavors was his mobile flower business, which became a family affair. Everyone learned how to cut and wrap flowers, creating memories that would stay with them for years to come.
Mike was a rock-and-roll kind of guy who loved being around people, listening to music, having a BBQ at the beach with friends and family, sitting by the campfire, and just enjoying a good time.
He proudly lived up to the phrase “bad to the bone.” A true survivalist, Mike was most at home outdoors and had a natural ability to live off the land and be one with nature.
Earlier this year, Mike made the meaningful decision to become sober, and with that new chapter came a growing sense of faith. In February, he was saved and began placing his trust in the Lord. His faith brought him comfort, strength, and a sense of peace as he continued moving forward in life.
Above all, even though Mike had his moments of being loved one’s biggest headache, he will be remembered for the unconditional love he gave so freely. Mike had a big heart. He loved deeply, welcomed others easily, and was happiest when that love was returned. He also loved to share his never-ending stories and memories whenever he had the chance.
Left to cherish Mike’s memory are his children, Holly, Stephanie, Amber, and Michael; honorary children, Amber Hill and Jake Livingston; grandchildren, Qu'Juan, Gaven, Skylar, Rainah, DeShawn, Alexa, Maurice, Baby Michael, and Loveonna. His sister Holly; niece and nephew, Tesla and Dannie; cousins, Eric Palise, and Deniscia DeBono; his former partner Kelly; her children whom he helped raise and considered his step children, Kendra, David, Danielle and Devin; step grandchildren, JJ, Ali, Isa, Safia, Amira, Layth, April, DJ, Trinity, Legna, Jacob, Sapphire, Rosellia and Isabella. Lastly, all of his Hunting Club buddies who will miss him so much. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by grandparents, Anthony & Mary Palise; and his ride-or-dies, Thomas Jackson, Anthony “Terry” Palise, and Al Olsen.
In accordance with Michael’s wishes cremation has taken place and there are no services planned at this time. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to The Wishes of Family, c/o Holly Russell, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
