Michael A. McCain, 69, of Pigeon, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.
Mike was born December 12, 1954 in Pigeon to the late Allard and Vivian (Pedler) McCain. In 1973 he graduated from Laker High School. He proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Brewton as a machinist. He married Jennie Dunn on August 9, 1980 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Linkville.
He loved to golf and was a member at Century Oaks. Woodworking was his passion, making oak furniture. Mike considered himself a dog-whisperer by earning a dog training certificate. He loved sports (go Tigers!), riding motorcycle, hunting, classic country music, camping and cooking. Mike is known for his iconic trademark, his beard. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Mike is survived by his wife Jennie; children Doreen Kay (Eric) Ford of Jacksonville, FL and Cally of Roseville; grandchildren Dorothy Kay, Xaviery, Sabrina, J.R., Timmy, James and Sammy; sisters Diane Gardner of St. Joseph, Kay (Jim) Nieschulz of Pigeon and Sandy Adams of Roseboro, NC; brother Jack (Dawn) McCain of Bay Port; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Cory, brother Tom and sister Wanda Webber.
Funeral services will be at 11:00am Saturday, November 16th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ryan Badgerow officiating. Visitation will be 2-8 Friday.
