Michael Elmer Mossner

Michael Elmer Mossner, 64, of Fairgrove, passed away suddenly after a long battle with cancer at his home on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Born on July 15, 1960, in Saginaw to the late Arnold and Lillian (Sheppard) Mossner, Mike graduated from Reese High School and went on to become a skilled welder by profession. He was also a talented handyman, the go-to person when a project needed to be tackled or something required fixing. Mike enjoyed the outdoors, often assisting with farm work and, despite his claims, making sure the outdoor cats were well-fed. Known for his quiet nature, Mike preferred his solitude and held firm to his ways—because, as he believed, they were the right ways. His strong will, hard work, and caring spirit will remain cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.

Mike leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Michelle Mossner, Katy Mossner (Preston), and Kelsey (Evan) Johnson; granddaughters, Abigail Smiddy and Lilliana Johnson; siblings, Gerald Mossner (Denise Nettleton) of Saginaw, Lenora (Brian) Steinley of Fairgrove, Carol (Mike) Schnell of Vassar, and Charles (Lena) Mossner of Caro; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his siblings, Janie Arnott, Kenneth Mossner, and Christopher Mossner; niece, Jennifer McComas; great-niece, Rochelle Putman; and his best fur-friend, Sparky, the beloved family chihuahua.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. at Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. The family will be present to receive visitors from 2:00 p.m. until the time of his service. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses who took such excellent care of Mike during his time at Seton Cancer Institute in Saginaw.
