Michael O.D.

Well known local optometrist, Michael Sinchak, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, following a lengthy illness, at the age of 61. Mike was born January 6, 1947 in Regensburg, Germany, the son of Samuel M. & Yvonne (Baldwin) Sinchak while both parents were stationed there in the service. Mike graduated from Caro High School in 1965, from Central Michigan University with a B.S. degree in 1969 and from Indiana University with an Optometry degree in 1972. He returned to Caro to purchase the eye clinic from Wendell Hartman, O.D. and continued in private practice, moving his clinic to Wal Mart in Caro in 2001. Mike was always an active member of the community, and was a former member of the Exchange Club and the Village Council. He was united in marriage with the former Cindy King on September 5, 2003 in Bay City. In addition to his wife, Cindy, Mike is survived by two daughters, Erika Sinchak of Grand Rapids, Nikki Sinchak of Saginaw; the mother of his daughters, Deborrah Wruble of Harbor Beach; Mikes mother, Yvonne Sinchak of Waterford; six step-children, Jennifer (Steve) Reinhardt of Bay City, Christopher King of Bay City, William (Jodi) King of Clarksville, Tennessee, James King of Sanford, Ashley King of Bay City, Melissa King of Bay City; six step-grandchildren; one sister and one brother, Karen (James) Fox of Waterford, Kevin Sinchak of Long Beach, California and several aunts and uncles. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Sinchak, D.D.S., in 2006.
