Michael Francis Ruth

Michael Ruth, 74, of Bad Axe, passed away peacefully Monday, April 7, 2025 at home.

Mike was born October 27, 1950 in Bad Axe to the late Francis and Lucy (Yax) Ruth. In 1968 he graduated from Laker High School. He served two years in the US Army, including one year in Vietnam. He began working on the family farm, and later worked for over 20 years at Fairhaven Wood Products until 1986. After that he worked for several agricultural businesses until retiring in 2010.

He enjoyed time spent on the Yax Family Farm with friends and family, and going up north and watching the ships at the Soo Locks. He enjoyed going to the casino and playing lottery.

Mike is survived by his significant other of 27 years Karen Oswald; children Stacy DeJonge of Jenison, Jeff Ruth of Sebewaing, Amanda Rossow of Kinde and Ashley Bowers of Grand Rapids; and siblings Tom Ruth, Jim Ruth, Elaine Peyok, Rita Bacik, Shirley Ruth, Donna Peyok and Mary McIlhargie. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sandy Ruth, son Eric Ruth, brother Dale Ruth and sister Carolyn Adamazyk.

A memorial service will be at 11:00am Monday, April 14th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon. Visitation will begin at 10:00am and continue until the time of the service.
