Michelle Gemmell-Monroe

Michelle Gemmell-Monroe of Caro, age 52, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital in Saginaw. Michelle was born April 17, 1968 in Cass City, the daughter of Jane (Beebe) Gemmell and the late Lewis L. Gemmell. She grew up in Elkton and graduated from Lakers High School with the class of 1987. Michelle worked for several years as a florist with Jackie's Country Florist in Sebewaing and was also a self-employed nutritional health professional. She was united in marriage with David Monroe on August 29, 2010 in Mayville, and he survives. Michelle was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Mayville and enjoyed cooking and gardening when she was able. Her life was centered around her son and grandchildren who will miss her immensely. Left to cherish Michelle's memory are her husband, David Monroe of Caro; son, Michael Gemmell of Caro; four grandchildren; her mother, Jane Gemmell of Caro; maternal grandmother, Betty Beebe of Mayville; two siblings, Thomas Gemmell of Caro, Meredith (Richard) Brown of Vassar; three stepbrothers, Mark McKinney of Florida, Grant & Dawn McKinney of Mio, Matthew McKinney and his companion, Judy Dull, of Gladwin; stepmother, Baraca Gemmell of Fairview; nieces and nephews, Alexis, Justin, Kyle, Brandon, Cadee, Abri, and Nicholas. In addition to her father, Michelle was preceded in death by grandparents, Clayton & Ardis Gemmell and Oliver Beebe. In keeping with Michelle's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the Community of Christ Church on Mertz Road in Mayville.
