Mildred L. Bieri

Mildred L. Bieri, age 69, of Berne near Pigeon died Sunday evening, April 7, at Scheurer Hospital, Pigeon.
She was born August 6, 1932 in Kentucky to the late James and Bevie (Foster) VanPoole and moved to Michigan in her youth.
On March 2, 1957, she was united in marriage to Lawrence A. Bieri in Washington, MI. He preceded her in death June 21, 1991.
Mildred raised her family in Warren and had been coming to the Pigeon-Caseville area since the early seventies. In 1986, the moved here to stay.
She is survived by five children, Dennis (Joann) VanPoole of Pigeon, LuAnn O’Connell and her fiancée’, Kevin of Tennessee, Pete Bieri and Darlene Bieri of Pigeon and Cyndi Bieri of Warren; 16 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; her brother, John Shepherd of Pigeon and her sister, Mary Brakenaki of Warren.
Preceding her in death was her son, Jim Bieri on November 22, 2001.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, April 11, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Caseville. Rev. DeWeerd Smith will officiate with burial in Christian Memorial Cultural Center, Rochester.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 PM Wednesday and after 10 AM Thursday.
