Mildred J. Fleming, age 96, long time Pinnebog resident died Friday afternoon, October 31, at Scheurer Hospital, Pigeon.
She was born in Port Hope at the home of her parents the late William and Sarah (Cowie) Varney in the early nineteen hundreds.
After high school and a year of college she returned to the area. On August 27, 1928 she was united in marriage to Charles J. Fleming in Bowling Green, OH. They made their home at the South limits of Pinnebog where they farmed all their married life. Charlie preceded her in death July 14, 1970.
Mildred was a life long member of the Chandler Presbyterian Church, life member of the Order of Eastern Star, past member of the Pinnebog Women’s Club and Pinnebog Bridge Club. She enjoyed plying cards and working around the house and yard and taking care of her family.
Surviving are her daughter. Judy Lesock of Caseville; nine grandchildren, Jane, Patty, Bill, Judy, Tracey, Dan, Todd, Stephanie and Jim; 16 great grandchildren, Tara, Rochelle, Stephanie, L. J., Charlie, Jim, Jaime, Chancey, Joey, Angel, Ryan, Alex, Patrick, Liam Lauren and Quinn and six great great grandchildren, Brody, Kylie, Drew, Lindsey, Skye and Ryan.
Preceding her in death were her son, James Fleming and her brother, Clifford Varney.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, November 3, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Caseville. Rev. Doug Mater will officiate with burial in Colfax Twp. Cemetery.
Friends may call in Caseville from 2 to 9 PM Sunday and after 10 AM Monday.
Memorials may be given to the Huron County Nature Center.
