Mildred H. Oeschger

Mildred Harriet Oeschger, age 95 of Bay Port passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 at Scheurer Hospital Long Term Care, Pigeon.
Born in Pigeon on July 8, 1917 Mildred was the daughter of the late William C. and Perle (Pfaff) Armbruster. On September 6, 1942 she was united in marriage to Edward Arthur Oeschger. They were married for over 61 years when Ed passed away on September 18, 2003.
Mildred graduated from Pigeon High school and Central State Teachers College (Central Michigan University). In the late 30's she taught school at Turner Rural School. After she was married she substitute taught at the Pigeon Schools and later with the Laker School District. She was church organist for over 60 years and was a very active member of the Kilmanagh United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Mildred and Ed traveled together for many years during his career with Farm Bureau Insurance Company where he was a General Agent. She was very active with the local Farm Bureau group and the Farm Bureau Ladies. She did beautiful hand work and made a quilt for each grandchild. In addition she helped with mending projects at Huron Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe for many years.
Mildred dearly loved her family. She is survived by two sons, Robert and Candace Oeschger of Port Hope and Dale and Linda Oeschger of Bay Port; five grandchildren, Tracey (James) Schenk of Bad Axe, Tara and Tyler Oeschger, both of Port Hope, and Corey (Sarah) Oeschger and Christopher Oeschger, all of Bay Port; three great-grandchildren, Owen and Evan Schenk and Clara Oeschger; several nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, Willet Oeschger of Sebewaing. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Donald Armbruster.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Kilmanagh United Methodist Church, Bay Port, with Rev. Duane Thon, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sebewaing.

Memorials may be made to Kilmanagh United Methodist Church or Bay Shore Evangelical Camp.

Monday, June 24 2 - 9 p.m.

AND AT KILMANAGH UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, BAY PORT:
Tuesday, June 25 1:00 p.m. until the time of service
