Mildred A. Priebe

Mildred A. Priebe, age 94 of Pigeon, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe.

She was born in Owendale on September 25, 1921 and was the daughter of William and Emma (Ruppul) Hoffman. On August 17, 1946, she and Arthur A. Priebe were united in marriage at New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. They had been married 69 years when Arthur preceded her in death on October 23, 2015.

Mildred was a homemaker throughout her lifetime. In her earlier years at New Salem Lutheran Church, she sang in the church choir with Arthur. She dedicated her life to taking care of her husband and family. She loved to bake and embroider, and in her early years, enjoyed canning garden vegetables and making sauerkraut with Art. She was a member at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Berne (Pigeon).

Her survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Lorraine Priebe of Reese, Jerry and Verna Priebe of Marlette, and Robert and Kathy Priebe of Tell City, Indiana; grandchildren: Melissa (Ryan) Putman, Shannon Priebe, Kristin (Jeremy) Krimm, Wendy (fiancé Gabe) Priebe, Robert Priebe, and Chelsea Priebe; great-grandchildren: Logan, Aubrey, Dominic, Asher, Madeline, and Abigail; sister-in-law, Marcia Hoffman; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Walter and Elmer Hoffman, and sisters, Hanna Gardner and Alice Heiman.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Berne, with Rev. James A. Gorsegner, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church or Huron County Nature Center.
