Mildred Marie Schuette

Mildred M. Britt Schuette, 73 of Pigeon, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Covenant Cooper Hospital in Saginaw.

Born in Sebewaing on February 7, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Charlotte (Musselman) Britt, and graduated from Pigeon High School. On November 1, 1958 she was united in marriage to Orville Charles Schuette at the First Methodist Church in Pigeon. They had been married 52 years when Orville passed away on November 27, 2010.

Mildred was a proud and enthusiastic supporter of her home community of Pigeon. She enjoyed golfing and was a member of Scenic Golf & Country Club. She was a member of the Pigeon Jaycettes, and was an active supporter of the Pigeon Lions Club for many years. Along with her husband Orville, she owned the Pigeon IGA Foodliner since 1975, and after his death, continued to be active in the business until illness prevented her from doing so. Mildred was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Pigeon.

She is survived by three children, Todd and Connie Schuette of Bay Port, Tim and Mary Jo Schuette of Pigeon, and Julia Schuette and companion Marc Bernier of Brooklyn, New York; five grandchildren: Jessica and Jeff Zarnke, Kacie Schuette, Michael Schuette, Peter Schuette, and Marc Schuette; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Austin Zarnke; sisters, Jeannie Hatlas of Owendale and Colleen (Jerry) Chaplinski of Filion; brother, Arthur (Laurie) Britt of Caseville; in-laws, Noel (Ron) Wichert, Harvey (Doris) Schuette, and Diane Schuette, all of Pigeon, and Lorraine Metzger of Owendale; uncle and aunt, Phil and Violet Musselman; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter Christine; and in-laws, Genevieve Schuette Buschlen and Arnold Schuette, Jr.

The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church, with Rev. James A. Gorsegner, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Wednesday, October 22 2 - 8:00 p.m.

AND AT ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, PIGEON:
Thursday, October 23 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m.
