Milton Rhodes

Milton Devere Rhodes was received into the arms of his Lord, August 18, 2005, at home. He was 81 years of age. Milton was born October 14, 1923, at home in Unionville, Michigan, the son of Clyde Oliver Rhodes and Edna Belle Wright Van Wagoner Rhodes. Milton married Leora Faye Town on September 30, 1950. He was a farmer for most of his life. He also worked at the State of Michigan Caro Regional Center for twenty-five years. He was also a licensed builder for many years. He loved working in his garden and sharing his produce with his many friends. He was a lifelong member of Colwood United Brethren Church. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Leora Faye Rhodes; six children, Barbara Rhodes Maxwell, Shirley and Richard Tuckey, Donna Rhodes, Debra Rhodes Lowe, Charles and Jeanne Rhodes, Clyde and Lynn Rhodes; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Loretta Thane; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, seven brothers, and five sisters. The funeral service will be held: AT: Colwood United Brethren in Christ Church ON: Monday, August 22, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. WITH: Pastor Phil Whipple and Pastor Rocky Spear, co-officiating Burial will be: AT: Ellington Township Cemetery ON: Monday, August 22, 2005 Visitation will be: AT: Collon Funeral Home ON: Sunday, August 21, 2005, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. AND: At the Church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Colwood United Brethren in Christ Church, Hospice of Hope or the Gideons.
