Morris C. DePoorter, 92, of Caseville, died Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon.
Morris was born April 25, 1927 in Detroit to the late Morris and Alice (VanHoorne) DePoorter. He served in the US Navy. He married Honora Holtzman on May 6, 1950 in Detroit. He retired in 1990 from Ford Motor Company as a sewer at Utica Trim. After retiring he moved from Sterling Heights to his cottage in Caseville. He was a charter member of the Caseville Eagles Club. He enjoyed bowling, shuffleboard, cards and horseshoes.
He is survived by his wife Norene; children Nora (Norm) Foldenauer of Florida, Morene (Keith) Rehbine of Caseville, Morris (Gloria) of Caseville, Alice (Mike) Pokowski of Almont, and Kathleen (Greg) Augustyn of Alpena; grandchildren Janelle, Jeff, Kerry, Melissa, Heather, Helenea, Morris, Brian, Cameron, Andrew and Amanda; great-grandchildren Harper, Henry, Victoria, Peyton, Reagan, Ember, Vaughn, and Lira; and brother Robert (Rose) of Richmond. He was preceded in death by siblings Donald and Arlene Carrier.
There will be a memorial at 11:30 Saturday, November 9th at the Caseville Eagles Club. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the cremation arrangements.
