Myra E. Rathje

Myra E. Rathje age 70 of Chandler Twp. near Elkton died Tuesday morning, March 13, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Saginaw.

She was born June 28, 1941 in Bay Port to the late Clarence “Ted” and Zella (Minnick) Foreman and grew up in the Bay Port/Caseville area. On July 7, 1956, she was united in marriage to Mark E Rathje at the Caseville United Methodist Church. They made they home in Winsor Twp. until moving to their new home on Farver Rd. near Elkton in 1971.

Myra was employed with Hamil Manufacturing, Bad Axe for 20 years retiring in 1980 for health reasons. She enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, putting puzzles together and gardening both flowers and vegetables.

Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Mark; five children, Mark (Lori) Rathje of Pigeon, Beverly Bouverette of Elkton, Wade Rathje of Elkton, Bonnie (Charlie) Micklash of Bad Axe and Barbara Rathje of Elkton; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and her sister, Dawn Haag of Cass City .

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Clarence and Carl Foreman.
Funeral services will be conducted ll:00 Am Friday, March16, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Rv. Karen Bouverette will officiate with burial in New Bay Port Cemetery.
