Myron David Gainforth

Myron D. Gainforth "Popeye", age 81, of Unionville, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017, at his home.

Myron was born February 13, 1936, in Unionville, to the late Emery and Erma (Haskill) Gainforth. After high school he was drafted into and is a veteran of the US Army. On December 7, 1957, he married Maxine Krull at St. Peters Lutheran Church (Columbia Corners). He worked for 30 years at GM Powertrain. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, USA Patriot sporting events, camping and playing cards.

Myron is survived by his wife, Maxine; children: Kelly (Bob) Linzner, Kim (Margaret) Gainforth, Kevin (Beth) Gainforth, Kurt (Anne) Gainforth and Kristen (Troy) Fuerst; 2 honorary sons: Davey Haskill and Steve Prahl; grandchildren: Ryan (Kellie) Linzner, Julianna Matthews, Tiffany (Luke) Maurer, Keith Gainforth, Kayla (Andy) Maurer, Ethan (Brittney) Gainforth, Mitchell (Vera) Gainforth, Seth Gainforth, Abby Fuerst, Maddy Fuerst, Emily Fuerst and Piper Fuerst; great grandchildren: Nash and Noah Matthews, Sawyer and Sydnie Linzner, Lincoln Maurer and Aleksandr Gainforth.

Visitation will be Friday, September 15, 2017, from 2-8pm at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing.

The funeral will be Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Wisner United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will take place privately at Hickory Island Cemetery in Akron Twp.

Memorial donations may be given to Camp Fishtails or Wisner United Methodist Church.
