Myrtle Parsell

Myrtle Parsell, age 90 years, of Caro, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Satchells Christian Retirement Home in Caro. She was born on May 5, 1916 in Caro. The former Myrtle Van Guilder and Carl Parsell had celebrated 71 years of marriage prior to his death on April 12th of this year. In addition to being a farm wife and mother, Myrtle was an accomplished artist and enjoyed that talent. She was a member of the Caro United Methodist Church. Myrtle is survived by two sons, a daughter and their spouses, Gary (Marylin) Parsell of Caro, Wayne (Bonnie) Parsell of Prescott, Arizona, and Bonnie (Bob) Irvine of Caro; twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Jessie (Beecher) Van Guilder; and one brother, Merrill Van Guilder. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Collon Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Whipple of Colwood United Brethren in Christ Church officiating. Cremation will have taken place and burial will be in the Almer Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
