Nancy Lou Hanes of Caro, age 75, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 at her home in Caro, surrounded in love by her family. Nancy was born October 7, 1940 in Caro, the daughter of the late Carl and Genevieve (Chambers) Tomlinson. She grew up in Caro and graduated from Caro High School. Nancy married Roland Bernard Hanes on August 8, 1959 in Caro, where the couple continued to reside and raise their four children. Nancy was employed at J.C. Penney's, was a co-owner of Homes American Made, and also ran a successful furniture and craft business with her husband. First and foremost, Nancy loved her family. She enjoyed knitting blankets and sweaters for each and every grandchild and great-grandchild, playing family board games, was a competitive Euchre player, worked on puzzles, and could bake like none other. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of fifty-six years. Roland Hanes; four children and their spouses, Pamela Lou (Rodney) Mills, Michael Jay (Robin) Hanes, April Anne (Tim) Jaster, Michelle Marie (Carl) Monson; eleven grandchildren, Dennis Mills, Tyler (Erin) Mills, Aaron Mills, Michaela (Ryan) Lueders, Trevor (Tiffany) Hanes, Kelsey Hanes and her fianc, Thomas Kemp, Kendra (Dan) Rummel, Zachary (Danielle) Monson, Whitney (Wade) Daley, Jessica (Jeremy) Stahl, and Jennifer Myers; sixteen great-grandchildren, Braylon, Landen, Autumn, Isaiah, Preston, Oliviana, Everly, Aubrey, Lauren, Brooklyn, Emma, Victoria, Roman, Kyra, Joey and Deklend, along with expecting three more great-grandchildren in 2016. She is also survived by one brother Dale (Marilyn) Tomlinson; and two sisters-in-law, Joanne Tomlinson, and Carol (Bill) Nason. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her in-laws, Clare (Marie O'Dell) Hanes, one brother, Robert Carl Tomlinson; and one brother-in-law, Paul Howard Hanes. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Ellington Church of the Nazarene and will be officiated by her grandson, Zachary Monson, Pastor Eldred Kelley and Pastor Joe Folz. Burial will follow at Almer Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Please join the family for a luncheon at the Ellington Church of the Nazarene immediately after the service.
