Nancy Jackson Hermanson

November 28, 1938 — April 20, 2009

Nancy Jackson Hermanson, age 70, formerly of Caseville, died Monday, April 20, 2009 at Season’s Change in Bay Port after a long illness.

Nancy was born November 28, 1938 in Detroit to the late Harold and Velma (Garlick) Jackson. On February 17, 1968 she married Harry Hermanson in Mt. Pleasant. Since childhood she has enjoyed spending time at her family’s cottage on Sand Point which has been there all her life. Throughout her life she has lived and traveled around the world, but she has always considered Caseville home. She was well known in the area for her local artwork and her family’s Banno USA boat yard where they built the “Old World 18” sail boats. Since 1996 she has lived in Virginia near her son. She also enjoyed her work as a dog groomer for the past several years.

Surviving are her son Jan (Kimberly) of Gainesville, Virginia; grandchildren Grace, Timothy, and Allyson; sister Jackie (Don) Wakely of Tampa and brother Hal (Eunice) Jackson of Rochester.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harry and daughter Kirsten.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM Friday at St. John Episcopal Church on Sand Point. Urn burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Saginaw.
