Nancy Lou Mccloy

Nancy Lou McCloy of Fairgrove, age 84, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Carriage House in Bay City. Nancy was born September 15, 1936 in Fairgrove, the daughter of the late Otto and Beulah (Gardner) Humphrey and was a 1954 graduate of Fairgrove High School. Nancy had been employed as a bookkeeper at the Fairgrove Hardware and later as librarian at the Fairgrove Library. She was an exceptional knitter and along with her sister, Blythe Ewald, had knitted over two thousand hats, scarfs and mittens for Saginaw east side school children. As a result of this loving generosity, they received awards from the Saginaw School District, the Department of Health and Human Services, and recognition from the TV5 Surprise Squad. Nancy was an avid reader, and a lifetime member of the Fairgrove United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. She is survived by two children, Maureen McCloy-Sherd of Fairgrove and Darryl McCloy of Caro; five grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Blythe Ewald. In keeping with Nancy wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the Fairgrove United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove.
