Nancy Joan Mcilhargie

Nancy Joan McIlhargie of Caseville, age 81, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe under the care of Compassus Hospice. Nancy was born May 1, 1936 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Melvin and Gladys (Hanson) Ford and was a graduate of Cooley High School in Detroit. On November 26, 1954, Nancy married Duane “Frank” McIlhargie at St. Felix Catholic Church in Pinnebog, and he preceded her in death. Nancy had managed the Bella Vista Inn & Resort, bartended at Hecks Bar, and also worked at the local IGA in her younger days. Her hobbies included socializing at Walt's and Lefty's, helping others, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Harley. Left to cherish her memory are three sons, Darin (Cheryl) of Bay City, Dan (Tonya) of Caseville and Brent (Crystal) of New Haven; grandchildren, Bayley, Payton, and Shelby; step-grandchildren, Hart, Wally, Nicole, Aleigha and Dylon; nephew, Chris Rader of Mt. Pleasant; niece, Cheryl Rader; great-nieces and nephews of Arkansas; and three very special friends who are more like family, Aurora Krolikowski, and Paul & Jane Nugent of Caseville. In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was also preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Rader. In keeping with Nancys wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church in Caseville on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Calvary Baptist Church of Caseville, or the Caseville Food Pantry.
