Nancy Arlene Welther

Nancy A. Welther, age 84, passed away August 8, 2019, at Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe, with her husband by her side.

Nancy was born May 6, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Joseph R. and Gladys E. (Nickerson) Chance. After graduating from high school, she married Lee Broadworth, having 4 children together. He preceded her in death. After Lee passed away, Nancy put herself through nursing school at Delta College, earning her degree as a Registered Nurse. She worked as an RN for Caro Community Hospital and was the RN Supervisor for the State of Michigan. She married Larry Welther on September 1, 1984.  She enjoyed dancing, traveling, reading and golfing. She took over as a Scout Leader and was the President of the Navy Wives Club. Nancy was also a member of the Mary Martha Guild at Immanuel Lutheran Church and was a member of the Sebewaing Historical Society.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Larry Welther; 2 children: Mark (Gherda) Broadworth and Lee Broadworth; step son, Timothy (Larry Kerns) Welther; sister, Jean (William) Tozer; brother, Harry Moore; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.

Nancy is preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Broadworth; daughter, Susan Fry; son, Jack Broadworth; and step son, David Welther.

Visitation will be Monday, August 12, 2019, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-8pm.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

The burial will be at Demorest Cemetery in Akron Twp. at 2pm.

Memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
