Nancy Lee Wright

Nancy Lee Wright of Silverwood, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at McLaren - Bay Region in Bay City. Nancy was born September 11, 1953 in Almont, the daughter of the late Clarence and Mabel (Schalau) Cheney. She was united in marriage with George Wright on September 11, 1971. Nancy was a faithful member of the Vassar Nazarene Church where she taught Sunday school and children's church. She was lovingly referred to as Aunt Nancy by many and was a revered grandmom and great-grandmom. Education was important to her, and she would often teach nursery rhymes and review schoolwork with her grandchildren or anyone that wanted to learn. Nancy could shop for hours, even if she didn't purchase anything. She also enjoyed crafting, collecting rocks, tending to her flower garden and walking area nature trails. Nancy was always up for planning a family party and was sure to capture every moment on camera. She was fearless in her fight against cancer eighteen years ago and equally brave on "her" red motorcycle. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of forty-nine years, George Wright of Silverwood; three children, Frances Thornton and husband, Don, of Reese, Amy Campbell and husband, Walter, of Caro, Stephanie Dusute of Caro; five grandchildren, Deanna Hill and husband, Michael, of Reese, Leah Bakewell and husband, Zachary, of Alpine, Texas, Elizabeth-Anne Wright of Caro, Carolynn Tucker of Caro, Rachel Dusute of Caro; two great-grandsons, Henry and Mark Hill; two sisters, Alice Dwyer of Ortonville, Clara Dotson of Lapeer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the remainder of her siblings; and one son-in-law, Scott Dusute. In keeping with Nancy's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in the summer of 2021. Information will be posted on this website as it becomes available.
