Naomi Bower

Naomi Bower, age 89, of Caro passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Rendon Young at Heart AFC Home in Caro. She was born on December 12, 1920 in Kingston to the late Melvin and Margaret (Chambers) Wilcox. On July 16, 1941 the former Naomi Wilcox married Thomas Bower in Toledo, Ohio. They continued to live there lives in Tuscola County. Naomi spent her life as a devoted wife and homemaker and enjoyed both listening to and playing music. She was accomplished at playing the fiddle, harmonica and organ. She was a member of the Caro United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Hope Circle, Sierra Club, and the American Legion Womens Auxiliary. Naomi enjoyed quilting, crocheting and knitting. She is survived by her husband, Thomas of Caro; a brother Max (Geraldine) Wilcox of Marlette; several nieces and nephews, great- and great-great nieces and nephews; with special notice to their caregivers, Glenn (JoAnn) Wilcox of Kingston and Ron (Carolyn) Bower of North Branch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the remainder of her siblings, Mabel Lane, Evelyn Wilcox, Bertha Fogelsanger, Margaret Fox, Carl Wilcox, Norman Wilcox, Lottie Forbes and Berthold Wilcox. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Smith, Caro United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Caro United Methodist Church.
