Nellie "Fern" Cosens

Nellie "Fern" Cosens, age 82, of Bay City, passed away on April 9, 2020.  She was born April 25, 1937 in Bay City to the late Henry and Kathleen (Wildner) Marker. Fern married Gary Cosens on June 14, 1958 at the United Methodist Church in Wisner.

As a teenager, Fern was a Beautician, in Sebewaing for many years, which lead her to a job at Hudsons, where she sold and styled wigs for cancer patients. Once she and Gary had children, Fern enjoyed staying at home to raise them. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden and also helped her husband in the vegetable garden. Most of all she loved and enjoyed her family,

Fern is survived by her husband, Gary, children: Tracy (Gerald) Hunter and Eric (Rachel) Cosens; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

A private burial has taken place.

Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson's Foundation to help with continued research.

A memorial service for Gary and Nellie will be held on July 31, 2021 at 1pm at the Wisner United Methodist Church. All relatives and friends are cordially asked to attend in the celebration of their lives. A fellowship meal at the church will be provided immediately following the service.
