Neva Irene Finkbeiner

Neva Irene Finkbeiner, age 86, of Sebewaing, passed away November 21, 2025.

Neva was born on December 13, 1938, in Rapson, Michigan, to Seymour and Irene (Perdue) Forbing. She married Robert F. Finkbeiner on January 18, 1964, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. She worked for the Log Cabin, Lamplighter and the Country Kitchen restaurants in Sebewaing and for Don's Sport Shop for many years. For many years she cared for her mother-in-law, volunteered at Bay Shore Camp and Medallion Village. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, traveling, working puzzles, going to the casino and being with her family and friends.

Neva is survived by her daughter, Janice (Doug) McClain of Essexville; siblings: Barbara (Jack) Peck, Charles (Gayle) Forbing, Dan Forbing, Ed (JoAnn) Forbing and Tom (Hanne) Forbing; sister-in-law's: Cynthia Forbing and Wendy Forbing; and many nieces and nephews.

Neva is preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1990; parents: Seymour Forbing, Irene Forbing, and step mother, Mary Forbing; mother-in-law, Marie Finkbeiner; brother-in-law, George Finkbeiner; siblings: Beverly (Harold) Deeg, Seymour (Judy) Forbing, Emma (Tom) Goyette, June Jackson, John Forbing, Betty Forbing, Bob Forbing, Randy Forbing and Paul Forbing.

Janice and Doug would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Bay View Gardens and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home, Inc. in Sebewaing from 4pm-8pm.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 800 E. Bay St., Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Burial will be private.

Memorial donations may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
