Niceta Wrobel

Niceta Elizabeth Wrobel, age 84 years, of Caro, passed away peacefully at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility on Tuesday, October 28, 2008. The former Niceta Romain was born on November 10, 1923 on the family farm in Almer Township to the late Peter and Mary (Goka) Romain. She was a lifelong resident of Caro. She was a 1941 graduate of Caro High School, and then attended the Bay City Business College. On June 25, 1947 Niceta married Donald Wrobel at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In addition to raising her large family, she was employed as a bookkeeper at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and later as a clerk at the Sears catalog store in Caro. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and enjoyed quilting and sewing. Niceta is survived by her husband, Donald, and seven children, Teresa (Joseph) Hearn of Westland, Mary (Ashcroft) Seehagen of Caro and her husband, Rudi, of Sandy, Utah, Rose (William) Putnam of Cass City, Damian (Rita) Wrobel of Caro, Martha (Ken) Hannah of Matthews, North Carolina, Martin (Carol) Wrobel of Caro and Clara (Sonny) Longoria of Attica; thirteen grandchildren, Paula, Edward, Catherine and Rachael Hearn, Amanda Ashcroft, Matt and Luke Putnam, Greg and Elissa Wrobel, Callie and Joel Hannah, Crystal and Kevin Wrobel; two great-grandchildren, Justine and Jasmine Putnam; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John; a grandson, Christopher; and three brothers, Bernard, Benedict and Gerard. Funeral Liturgy will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, October 31, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk officiating. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. Rite of Committal will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Niceta Wrobel Family Discretionary Fund, c/o Donald Wrobel.
