Nick Dashkevicz

Nick Dashkevicz, age 76, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012 at his home. He was born on September 24, 1935 in Wells Township, the son of the late Alexander and Mary (Sioma) Dashkevicz. Nick was a lifelong resident of Wells Township and attended Frankford Country School and Caro High School. On May 19, 1956 he was united in marriage with the former Donna Wright in Caro. Nick was employed in the mobile home industry at Marlette Manufactured Homes and Active Homes in Marlette, first as a purchasing agent and then as a plant manager until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed hunting, tinkering, working on small engines and fishing. Nick loved family holidays, gatherings, and taking videos of all who attended. Nick is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Donna Jean Dashkevicz; his children, Sally Benn and Robert Morrison of Dundee, Diane Dashkevicz of Caro, Ron & Shirley Dashkevicz of Vassar, Nicole & Jason Fox of Millington; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Ericka, Ashley, Austen, Cody, Natasha and Shasta; one great-grandson, Dylan; two sisters, Olga Jasinski of Lincoln Park and Nellie Buon of Livonia; several nieces, nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Nick was preceded in death by six sisters and four brothers. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. In keeping with Nicks wishes, cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
