Nick Ovcen

Nick Ovcen, 94, of Caseville, died Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.

Nick was born in Detroit on December 12, 1923 to the late Louis and Stana (Vitas) Ovcen.  He served in the US Navy during World War II.  He married Dolores J. Kanyak on June 7, 1961 at Salem EUB Church in Pigeon; she preceded him in death September 27, 2004.

He worked as a typesetter/printer and later as a drywall finisher.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Caseville.  He enjoyed gardening, building, and spending time with his grandsons.

He is survived by his three sons:  Randy (Gwen) of Pigeon, Mark (Debra Logsdon) of Elkton and Todd (Sandra) of Caseville; grandsons Brett and Zackary; granddaughter-in-law Tania; and great grandsons Trenton and Hunter.  He was preceded in death by his grandsons Nathan and Aaron and sisters Sophie, Millie and Daisy.

A memorial service will be 11:00am Saturday, September 15 ^th at Calvary Baptist Church in Caseville with Pastor Mike Goforth officiating, followed by a meal in the church hall.  Friends may begin visiting at church an hour prior to the service.  Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the cremation arrangements.
