Nick Stoick

Nick Stoick, age 101 years, of 2969 West Dixon Road, passed away on Friday January 6, 2005 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. He was born on January 12, 1904, in Poland, to the late Nick and Ann Stoick. Nick came to the United States as a small baby and his family settled first in Detroit and then came to Tuscola County. On September 15, 1934 Nick married the former Mary Szcygiel in Reese. Nick was a lifelong farmer, loved the land, and enjoyed dancing. He is survived by three children; Irene (Richard) Huck of Northport, Nick Jr. and Mona Stoick of Caro, Dorothy (Greig) Smith of Posen, five grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, four siblings; John Stoick of Vassar, Stanley (Elaine) Stoick of Vassar, Willis (Verna) Stoick of Florida and Dorothy (Duane) Fent of Birch Run, as well as several nieces and nephews. Nick was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Jackson, a granddaughter, Tracey, the remainder of his siblings; Clara Kuzma, Mike Stoick, Frank Stoick, Pete Stoick, Walter Stoick, Ed Stoick, and an infant sister. The funeral service will be held: at: Collon Funeral Home on: Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with: Rev. Duane Miller, Officiating Burial will be: at: Indianfields Township Cemetery Visitation will be: at: Collon Funeral Home on: Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and: Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility.
