Norma G. Rickwalt

Norma G. Rickwalt of Caro, age 81, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. Norma was born June 11, 1941 on the family farm in Denmark Township, the daughter of the late Clarence & Dorothy (Stott) Dinsmore. She was a lifelong Tuscola County resident and graduated from Fairgrove High School with the class of 1959. She furthered her education in Bay City where she earned her cosmetology license. Norma was united in marriage with Keith Rickwalt on September 30, 1961 in Gilford, and he preceded her in death on December 8, 1988. Norma began work at Howard's Beauty Academy in Caro shortly after his death, and also served several area nursing homes as a beautician. She was also a beloved day care provider in Caro for many years. Most recently, she was the friendly face that greeted visitors to the Caro Walmart, a position she held for seventeen years, retiring in 2006. Norma's life revolved around her family, and she was a constant presence at her children's activities. Later, she adored time spent with her grandchildren and watching their faces light up at Christmas. Norma also enjoyed shopping and had an eye for a good deal. Left to cherish her memory are five children and spouses, Melissa & Doug Sugden of Mayville, Alan & Jerlyn Rickwalt of Jonesville, Kimberly & Ryan Tedesco of Columbiaville, Susan & Dave Holder of Caro, Brian & Laura Rickwalt of Caro; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Stoddard of Caro; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Norma was preceded in death by two siblings, Betty Spencer and Glenn Dinsmore. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro with Rev. Cameron Steele officiating. Private burial services will follow at a later time. Family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro or simply perform an act of kindness to someone in need.
