Norma Mae Ruppal

Norma Mae (Prime) Ruppal of Akron, age 91, died on Friday, March 4, 2022 at her home. She was born in Wisner on August 6, 1930, to the late Daniel and Leola (Rogers) Prime. She graduated from Unionville High School in 1947. She was married to Harold Ruppal on February 14, 1948 at the Unionville Moravian Church. She lived in Akron where she farmed with her husband, Harold, until their retirement in 1987. Following retirement she wintered in both Apache Junction, Arizona and Bradenton, Florida. She also loved traveling the United States and the Maritime Provinces in their motor home with husband Harold. She was a member of the TNT Campers Club and was active in her church and served in many organizations. She enjoyed her flowers, sewing, fishing, square dancing, family history, baking and watching sunsets. She was a long-time member of the Moravian Church in Unionville, Michigan. Mrs. Ruppal is survived by her husband of 74 years, Harold Ruppal, her children Dr. Barbara Ruppal Medvec (Michael) of Saline; Michele Ruppal of Plymouth; and Doug Ruppal (Brenda) of Akron. She was proud of her grandchildren Jacob Daniel Ruppal (Melanie Keyes) of Sykesville, Maryland; Dr. Estey Ruppal Evans (Duncan) of Seffner, Florida; Evan Michael Medvec of Akron; and Tyler Daniel Medvec of Saline. Mrs. Ruppal was proud to welcome her first great-grandchild born March 1, 2022, Elsie Evans. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Neil Prime (1974) of Wisner and her son-in-law Michael E. Medvec (2019) of Saline. The funeral service will take place at 11 A.M. Thursday March 17, 2022 at the Unionville Moravian Church on 2711 Cass Street, Unionville, Michigan. Friends and family viewing will be held in the Church Narthex from 9:30-11:00 A.M. Burial will follow immediately in the Moravian Cemetery.
