Norman Ellis, age 92 years, of Caro passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at Marlette Hospice Residence. He was born on July 19, 1914 in Benson, Arizona, to the late Dudley and Ethel (Burns) Ellis. He married the former Fannie Reddick on July 3, 1934 in DeFuniack Springs, Florida, and they have celebrated 72 years of marriage. Mr. Ellis had been self-employed as a beekeeper and had worked in a variety of states along with Costa Rica and Cuba. He had settled in Florida before coming to Michigan in 1935. He was a beekeeper, and a lifelong member of the Blue Lodge and Royal Arch Masons, having joined in 1946. He was a member of the Caro United Methodist Church and a past member of the National Beekeepers Association. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Fannie Ellis; three children, Norma Albin of Houston, Texas, Marion (Leon) Graham of Caro and Janice (Leigh) Ganley of Caro; his grandchildren, Cindy Woodruff of Caro, Steve (Debbie) Albin of Houston, Texas, Gregory Ganley of Caro, Sandra Gutierrez of Caro, Edward (Beth) Ganley of Caro, Susan (Mark) Copeland of Deford; great-grandchildren, Amy Woodruff, Ryan Woodruff, Tony Mitchell, Gino Gutierrez, Samuel Gutierrez, Jennifer Gutierrez, Max Gutierrez, Whitney Ganley, Mason Copeland, Riley Copeland, Livia Ganley and Christine Albin; and one sister, Beatrice Merriman of Plymouth. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carol Albin; one brother and one sister, Roger Ellis and Charlotte Ellis. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday, April 9, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. J.T.Mabe of the Mizpah Missionary Church in Cass City officiating. Burial will be at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at the time of service. Memorials may be made to United Hospice.
