Okamay Alice Neahusan of Caro, age 83, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Medilodge of Cass City. She was born in Flint on June 28, 1942, the daughter of the late Nathan and Dorothy (Sines) Reeves. Okamay married the love of her life, Daniel Neahusan, on June 13, 1964. Their marriage was blessed with over sixty-one years and countless memories.
Throughout her life, Okamay was always on the move and never afraid of hard work. She held various factory jobs, sold Avon, babysat many children, and even started her own catering business. An exceptional cook, baker, and canner, Okamay took great pride in her kitchen and was known for keeping a spotless home. She also loved to dance and brought joy wherever she went. Okamay especially treasured traveling with Daniel and attending family gatherings, where her warm smile and loving heart were always felt. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Okamay leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Daniel; children, Daniel (Robin) Neahusan of Evart, Alonda (David) Leffingwell of Caro, and Carol (Thomas) Irvine of Caro; six grandsons, Christopher Taylor of Sterling Heights, Jacob Irvine of Mayville, Cody (Erica) Irvine of Kingston, Nicholas (Alyssa) Irvine of Caro, Brook Neahusan of Evart, and Jordan Leffingwell of Caro; two great-grandsons, Cooper Irvine and Myles Irvine, both of Mayville; six great-grandchildren, Annalease Neahusan and Brooke Neahusan, both of Evart, Annabelle Irvine and Elliemae Irvine, both of Kingston, and Oakamay Irvine and Eloise Irvine, both of Caro; brother, Glen Reeves; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Okamay was preceded in death by her son, Kevin and her siblings, Russell, Richard, Edward, Lumaryllis, and Ethel.
Okamay’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the Ransford Funeral Home in Caro. The family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of her service.
