Pigeon

Olga Lydia Sophia Renn, 101, of Pigeon passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Scheurer Health in Pigeon.

Her 101 years were spent on the Schuette family farm in Elkton during her childhood, and the farm she and Fred started in Chandler Twp.  She worked alongside Fred and their children, always encouraging and keeping the wheels turning.  Her lifetime was dedicated to providing support to her family and friends, who loved her dearly. She was a lifetime, faithful member of Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon and attended Cross Lutheran School.

Olga is survived by her by her son-in-law Jerry Porter of Placentia, California; and by her children Bill (Sandie) Renn of Pigeon, Karen Anklam of Pigeon, Joyce (Dave) Jarvis of Pigeon, Deb (Tom) Armbruster of Cass City, and Kent Renn of Pigeon; Olga was also blessed with 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.  Olga helped raise nephew Robert Renn, with whom she remained very close and so enjoyed keeping in touch with, along with his wife Candy.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Betty, grandson Martin, brothers Walter, Albert, Ernest, Ervin, Carl, Edward, Herman, and Otto Schuette and sister Hulda Baur.

Funeral services will be at 3:00pm Wednesday, October 4 at Cross Lutheran Church with her granddaughter’s husband Pastor James Floyd officiating.  Burial will be in Cross Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm Wednesday and continue until the time of the service at church.

Olga’s children wish to acknowledge and give thanks for the wonderful care given by Dr. Drake, Scheurer Health, and A&D Hospice staffs.  They all made her final days as peaceful and comfortable as possible.

Memorials may be given to Cross Lutheran Church Building Fund or Scheurer Health.
