Onalee M. Roeber of Pigeon, passed away Sunday February 24, 2013 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe on her 80th birthday.
She was born in Pigeon on February 24, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Walter and Ethel (Carter) Wachner. She was a 1951 Pigeon High School graduate. On December 22, 1952 she was united in marriage to James R. Roeber. The couple had lived in Utica since 1962, and she returned to Pigeon in 1993. James preceded her in death on November 7, 1992.
Onalee was a homemaker throughout her lifetime, enjoying reading, cooking, baking, and visiting with family and friends. She was formerly active with Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pigeon.
She is survived by three children, Kim (Raymond) Jackman of Dryden, Ronald (Janet) Roeber of Shelby Township, and Steven Roeber of Bay Port; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Delores (Donald) Eisinger and Carol Wachner, both of Ypsilanti; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Wachner.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon, with Rev. Lee C. Wenskay officiating. Burial will be in New Bay Port Cemetery.
