Orville J. Liedke, age 68, of Elkton, died Friday morning, July 2, at Covenant Cooper, Saginaw.
He was born November 17, 1935, in Harbor Beach to the late John and Lydia (Weiss) Liedke. On April 16, 1966, he was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Vahovick at the Zion Lutheran Church, Harbor Beach and made their home in Elkton.
Orville loved to walk; he walked all over Elkton daily. He made a pilgrimage north to walk the Mackinaw Bridge ten years in a row on Labor Day.
Orville had worked at Active Industries in Elkton on production, retiring in 1973 for health reasons.
Orville was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Linkville and enjoyed fishing both winter and summer, paint pictures and baking bread for the neighbors.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Ann Leidke of Merritt Island, FL; many nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Viola Liedke and Winona Carr, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 6, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Linkville. Rev. Lee Wenskay, pastor will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
A scripture service will be conducted 7:00 PM Monday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton, where friends may call from 2 to 8 PM Monday and at the church after 10 AM Tuesday.
Memorials may be given to his church.
