Oscar Haywood, Jr.

Oscar Haywood, Jr., age 84 passed away November 7, 2010 at Oakcrest Assisted Living in Norway, MI. Oscar was born June 3, 1926 to the late Oscar, Sr. and Maude (Davis) Haywood in Piggot, Arkansas. Oscar was honorably discharged March 20, 1947 as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army. On May 10, 1947 he married the love of his life, Marie Boardman. On April 2, 2010 Marie passed away just shy of their 64th wedding anniversary.

Oscar worked for General Motors as a quality assurance engineer for 30 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Frank) Porter and son, David (Elizabeth) Haywood.

Oscar is the proud grandfather of 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

He is survived by one sister, Mary (Robert) Bacik.

Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held November 12, 2010 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Sebewaing. Visiting will take place at the church from 9am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will take place at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, MI.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing, or Utica United Methodist Church in Utica, MI.
