Pamela J. "Jeanne" Wurst

January 6, 1949 — May 20, 2016

Pamela J. "Jeanne" Wurst, age 67, passed away quietly on May 20th, 2016 after a long illness. She was surrounded by her family at her home on Sand Point

Jeanne was born on January 6th, 1949 in Burton, Michigan to parents Leroy "Roy" and Beverly (Sylvester) Johnson. She graduated from Atherton Schools in 1967, where she later worked in several positions, from office helper to bus driver to fleet manager. She moved to the Caseville area in 1996 to be near family who had moved to the area. She was part owner of The Lodge at Oak Pointe Bed and Breakfast and played an instrumental role in the early days of the business.

On January 30th, 2003 she married Keith W. Wurst of Sand Point, Pigeon.

Jeanne was an avid casino enthusiast and in recent years enjoyed visiting casinos in Michigan, Las Vegas the Caribbean and in Florida, where she and her husband Keith would spend the winters at their home in Sebring. She also enjoyed her casino trips with her friends.

Jeanne was a devoted friend to those fortunate enough to know her well. She was a fierce advocate and caretaker to several friends who preceded her in death. Her family often said that she missed her calling and should have been a nurse.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Keith; daughter, Stacy (Dave) Syrylo and granddaughters Barbara and Jessica of Flushing, and by daughter Elisha (Keith) Nichols of Davison and grandson Benjamin. Also surviving are brothers Gary Johnson of Davison and Louis (Michael Smith) Johnson of Caseville, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jeanne is also survived by her stepdaughters Tammy (Dan) Hartle of Kernersville, NC and Jennifer (Dan) Alfrey of Woodland Park, CO and their children Tiffany and Greg. She was preceded in death by her father Leroy C. "Roy" Johnson and mother Beverly (Sylvester) Johnson, and brother Leroy T. Johnson.

As was her way, she wanted no fuss to be made of her passing. Her wish was to be cremated and to forego a funeral or memorial. It is her family's hope that your memories of her will keep her in all our hearts.
