Patrice E. Gettel-Lindow
Age 61, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 18, 2013.
She was born February, 18, 1952 in Pigeon, daughter of the Ivadell L. (Weidner) Engelhardt and the late Walter L. Engelhardt.
Patrice became a child of God through baptism on March 16, 1952 and was confirmed on May 29, 1966.She was a 1970 graduate of the Sebewaing High School and a graduate of Bayshire Beauty Academy.
She was united in marriage to James W. Gettel on February 14, 1976 in Sebewaing. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1992. She then was married to Steven Lindow on January 3, 2004 in Sebewaing, who survives her.
She retired after 40 years of being a self-employed beautician. She was a member of the Sebewaing Woman's Civic Club and the Sebewaing Chamber of Commerce. She also served on the Sebewaing Village Council as Secretary, Chairperson and President. She also was very proud that she served as director of Sugar Queen Selection Committee for the Sebewaing Sugar Festival for 22 years. She also was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, serving as Sunday School teacher and superintendant, adult Hand bell choir, Marimba and Instrumental band.
Surviving are her husband, Steven, ; 1 daughter, Anissa (Jason) Kuhl; 1 son, Branden (Lisa) Gettel; 2 dear grandsons, Dawson and Treston Kuhl; 1 precious granddaughter, Madison Gettel, all of Sebewaing; her mother, Ivadell Engelhardt, 1 brother, James (Mary) Engelhardt, all of Sebewaing; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; also Steven's family, including 2 children, Eric (Sherry) Lindow Woodville, OH; Katie (Marc) Spaulding, Kissimmee, Fl; and 3 grandchildren; The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Rev. Michael Boyer will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from noon to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. She will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service.
