Patricia K. Pendergrast

Patricia K. Pendergrast of Caro, age 74, passed away at her home on Thursday, March 3, 2016, following a courageous battle with cancer. Pat was born March 15, 1941 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Emery and Mary Catherine (Ewald) Berry, and was a 1959 graduate of Akron-Fairgrove High School. She was united in marriage with Richard Ozbat on September 6, 1969, and he preceded her in death on June 11, 2004. She later married Charles E. Pendergrast on June 22, 2013 at the Caro Church of the Nazarene, and he survives her. Pat was employed at Caro Plastech for thirty-four years, retiring as a foreman in 2004. She was a Foster Grandparent at McComb Elementary School for ten years, a position she left in 2014. Pat attended the Caro Church of the Nazarene, and was a member of the Caro Moose Lodge #940 and Caro Eagles Aerie 3587. She loved singing and was the captain of her glee club in high school. Her free time was mostly spent outdoors where she enjoyed flowers, painting, golfing, and birds. Pat also cherished the time she had traveling with her husband, Charlie. Known to have a great sense of humor, Pat could be found scaring any unwitting victim on Halloween. Pat is survived by her husband, Charles Pendergrast of Caro; five children, Diane & Terry Reh of Caro, Catherine Campbell and life partner, Gene Norman, of Saginaw, David Campbell of Caro, Michelle Ozbat of Caro, Rick & Lisa Ozbat of Caro; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; siblings, Janet & Dan Bedford of Saginaw, Nancy & Lee Sevener of Caro, Dan & Linda Berry of Mayville; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Richard Ozbat, she was preceded in death by two nephews, Dale Bedford and Ryan Ozbat. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Paul McNett of the Caro Nazarene Church officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. A Women of the Moose Memorial Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
