Patricia Ann “Patti” Schuman, 55, of Caseville, passed from her earthly home on January 7, 2009 to join her father Richard E. Schuman who has been awaiting her arrival in heaven.
Patti enjoyed living in Long Term Care at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon for the past year. Prior to this, she was living with her loving mother, Mary (Traynor) Schuman at Country Gardens in Pigeon. Mom and Patti moved into Country Gardens in March 2007 where they enjoyed the comradery of the kind staff, the leisurely lifestyle and the wonderful food. Before moving to Huron County, Patti had lived in Harper Woods and Lapeer.
Patti was employed for years at the Thumb Industries in Bad Axe where she experienced life skills, independence, being a member of the working society and banking her weekly paycheck.
Patti was a devout Catholic who enjoyed helping Fathers Dennis and Ken with the distribution of communion at weekend mass at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville. She especially loved participating in Special Olympics where she excelled and proudly displayed her swimming medals, bowling trophies and softball toss ribbons.
She was dearly loved by her six siblings, Dianne (Dan) Gualdoni of Shelby Twp, Ed Scritchfield and Alice Miles of West Bloomfield, Kathy (Mark) Krebs of Caseville, Jan (Richard) Kraus of Clinton Twp, Nance Schuman of Northport and Gregory Schuman of Caseville; Eleven nieces and nephews, seven great grand nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
We all will joyfully miss her as she and her dad cast off together for that long overdue fishing trip – and God will bait your hooks!
A funeral mass will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville with Fr. Kenneth Yaroch presiding. Burial will be Monday at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
Visitation will be 3-8PM Friday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and from 10AM Saturday until the time of mass at church. There will be a scripture service at 7:00PM Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thumb Industries or Special Olympics.
