Patrick J. Goslin

Patrick James Goslin, age 86 of Unionville, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.  He was born October 2, 1933 in Tuscola County to the late Alfred and Lottie (Fournier) Goslin.  Pat married MaryAnn Grocholski on May 25, 1957.  They celebrated 62 years of marriage.  Pat was a farmer and lived his entire life in Unionville.   Pat had a great love for his family, a strong faith and was proud to be an active member of St. Agatha's Church where he was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister.  He also served on the Parish Council and was a member of the Ushers Club.  Pat would always be one of the first to volunteer if there was a repair project or landscaping work to be done at the church.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served on the Owen-Gage School Board. Upon retiring from farming, his passion became woodworking.  He'd spend his days in his workshop making furniture and items for craft shows.  Pat enjoyed socializing, so for many years he would rise early in the morning and head out to the "Coffee Shop" in Gagetown to enjoy some coffee and share stories with his friends.  Pat and MaryAnn enjoyed their Polka Dances and the Polish weddings they attended.  They also enjoyed their occasional trips to the casino.  It was common on a Sunday to drive to Leo and Sadie's (his in-laws) to visit and enjoy a lively card game of schmear with the Grocholski's.  However, you could never just stop in without enjoying Sadie's home cooking, which almost always included her homemade bread.

Pat was preceded in death by his daughter Carol Goslin; eight sisters, Ila Seurynck, Dorothy Goebel, Helen Wood, Felice Vermeersch, Evelyn Greyerbiehl, Jane Rhodes, Constance Goslin and Marianne Beebe; four brothers, Harold, Al, Clarence and Keith; eight brother-in-laws, Leo Seurynck, Gary Goebel, Lee Wood, Frank Vermeersch, Wayne Greyerbiehl, Al Beebe, Eugene Szczepanski and Gene Grocholski; two sister-in-laws, Louise Szczepanski and Lila Grocholski; father and mother-in-law, Leo and Sadie Grocholski (Busia) and Brother Richard Hugh Patrick Henry.

Surviving along with his wife MaryAnn, he leaves three children; Barb (Dennis) Tomczak, Gary Goslin and Karen Muntz.  He also leaves seven grandchildren; Travis VanOchten, Justin (Amber) Johnson, Jessica, Erica and Evan Goslin and Amanda and Andrew Muntz and three great-grandchildren.  Also surviving is brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Shirley Grocholski and three additional sister-in-laws; Marge, Eva and Marie Goslin.

Burial of cremains will be August 21, 2020 at Our Lady Consolata St. Agatha Catholic Cemetery in Gagetown, Michigan at 11:30am with Fr. Craig Carolan officiating.
