Patrick Herman Nast, age 65, of Lapeer, formerly of Bay Port and Unionville, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital.
Patrick was born in Cass City on March 17, 1960, to Herman and Dorothy (Ludwig) Nast. He attended Unionville-Sebewaing Area High School. After school, he moved to Arizona until he met and married, Melanie Deering. He then moved to Bay Port and raised their daughter, Cheryl. Around 2008 they moved to Lapeer. Melanie preceded him in death May 30, 2021. Patrick worked as a truck driver for Blue Water Trucking. He enjoyed running in 5K and10K races, fishing, hunting, biking, gardening, grilling and watching sports, especially the Detroit Lions.
Patrick is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Nast, of Lapeer; grandchildren: Kaitlyn Nast, of Melvin and Justin Huett, of Lapeer; siblings: Dennis Nast, Gail (Larry) Bulla, Roger (late Lois) Nast, Dean (Bonnie) Nast, Jerry (Sue) Nast and Wendy (Steve) Einhardt; and many nieces and nephews.
Patrick is preceded in death by his wife, Melanie, and parents, Herman and Dorothy Nast.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home, Inc., in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at 12pm until the time of service at 2pm. Pastor Al Eastman will be officiating.
Memorial donations may be given to the family.
