Paul Soto Fierros, Sr., age 61, of Caro passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Caro Community Hospital. He was born on January 26, 1948 in Saginaw to the late Benito and Angelita (Soto) Fierros. During his youth he moved to Gilford, Fairgrove and eventually to Caro. Paul Fierros married the former Leona Ortiz Sauceda on December 9, 1966 in Vassar. Paul took a job at the fertilizer plant in Reese in 1966, which is now Agrium Advanced Technology. He had a love for Spanish music, but his passion was playing his accordion which will be missed by many. Paul also loved playing with his grandkids, watching movies and being with his kids and family. He loved Mexican food, being outside, working in the yard, and planting a big garden. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Leona; his children, Paul “Boy” Fierros, Jr. and Mindy Near of Caro and Jessica (Kyle) Trisch of Slater, Iowa; his grandchildren, Jordan Lynn Fierros, Breanna Amanda Fierrros, Alex Kristopher Trisch and Tyler Fowler; four brothers and two sisters, Bonifasio (Sylvia) Fierros of Flint, Jeronimo (Tammy) Fierros of Fairgrove, Mary (Terry) German of Caro, John (Doris) Fierros of Caro, Cipriano “Cepi” Fierros of Caro and Hortencia “Tanga” (Kirk) Hendrickson of Lapeer; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Paula Ann Fierros; and one brother, Joseph Fierros. Funeral Liturgy will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk officiating. Rite of Committal will be at Brookside Cemetery, Fairgrove. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Vigil for the Deceased will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
