Surrounded by family, Paul Anthony Golsch, 82, of Pigeon passed away January 25, 2022 at his winter home in Holiday, Florida. He was born September 16, 1939 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Anthony Golsch and Josephine Woss (formerly Golsch, maiden name Grywatch). Paul married his loving wife, Elaine M. Rajewski on April 23, 1966 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Essexville, Michigan. Paul was a well-known and respected optometrist with multiple practices in Caro, Bad Axe and Sandusky, Michigan.
Paul’s adventurous spirit and zeal for life led him to pursue and enjoy many hobbies, often with his friends and family. He enjoyed woodworking and carving, frequently making figurines for his grandkids and family. He liked spending time on the water, and loved to boat and fish, especially at his beach house in Caseville. Paul was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing on many golf leagues over the years. Paul had a great appreciation for music and was an accomplished player of the coronet. Paul loved cooking for his family and friends and was most comfortable behind a hot grill. But most of all Paul loved just simply spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandkids which he adored. Whether playing a spirited card game, watching a football game, or simply enjoying a good conversation, the personal relationships he built over the years were most important to him.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Elaine; his children and their spouses; Kevin and Jennifer Golsch, Katherine and Eric Netkowski, Kyle and Bo Golsch; grandchildren, Kristine, Sarah, Michael and Paul Golsch, Clare and Brooklyn Golsch, and Connor and Logan Netkowski; one brother and his spouse, Roy and Sandy Golsch; and brothers and sisters-in-law Bob (Nancy) Rajewski, Tom Rajewski, Sister Lorraine Rajewski, Rosemary (Ken) Ballor, and Linda (Larry) Castello. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and daughters Kristine Golsch and Malissa Golsch.
In keeping with Paul’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 11:00am Saturday, May 21st at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville with the Dominican Sisters of Grand Rapids presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Dominican Sisters of Grand Rapids, MI at
