Paul F. Greenleaf of Caro, age 89, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021 at United Hospice Residence in Marlette. Paul was born November 11, 1931 in Painesville, Ohio, the son of the late James and Isabelle (Clapp) Greenleaf. His childhood was spent on a farm in the Deford area and he graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1950. Paul served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954 followed by active Army Reserve until 1963 and was honorably discharged as Sergeant First Class. Following his discharge from the Army, he attended numerous schools and learned small engine repair for boat motors, snowmobiles, lawn tractors and motorcycles. Paul was employed at the Caro Center for thirty-eight years as a resident care aide, retiring in 1997. He was an avid motorcycle rider and toured every state in the continental United States in the 1970's and 1980's. Paul participated in many endurance races and won many trophies. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending winters in Tavares, Florida following his retirement. Paul was united in marriage with Sharon (Block) Corradi in 1992, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Sharon, Paul is survived by three children, Paul Allen Greenleaf of Caro, Rhoda Tuckey of Deckerville, Chad Greenleaf of Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister, Virginia Dennis of Caro; one grandchild, Earl Greenleaf; two great-grandchildren; three step-children, Lisa Pickett of Frankenmuth, Dana Wentworth of Florida, Matthew (Jennifer) Corradi of Caro; brother and sisters-in-law, Richard & Phyllis Nagel of Florida, and Patricia Gates of Saginaw; six step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Paul's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a time of remembrance beginning at 11:00 a.m. Military honors under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the Caro VFW Post 4164 will follow. Following the service, a time of celebration will be held at the Brentwood, 178 Park Drive, Caro, MI 48723.
