Paul A. Herman, age 81 of Pigeon, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at Huron Medical Care Facility, Bad Axe.
Born in Yakima, Washington on September 22, 1931, Paul was the son of the late Rev. Allen G. and Mabel E. (DeGroat) Herman. Paul lived in Pigeon at the home of Betty and Darrell Rapson and worked at Thumb Industries for many years. He also cared for several yards in the community and rode his bicycle throughout town. Paul especially enjoyed stopping at the Dutch Kettle daily for a slice of fresh pie and a cup of coffee. He faithfully attended Salem United Methodist Church for many years.
His survivors include four sisters: Della Trudgen, Lillian (Willard) Williams, and Suzanne Schember all of Pigeon and Mabel Herman of Owendale; and two sisters-in-law, Genevieve Herman of Lansing and Eileen Herman of Pigeon. Paul is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Elmer, Gilbert and Donald Herman
A Funeral Memorial Service will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon. Rev. Reggie Courliss, pastor of Elkton Missionary Church, will officiate. Interment will take place in Grandlawn Cemetery, Pigeon.
