Paula Jo Nowland, age 61 years, of Saginaw, died on Monday November 27, 2006 at her residence. She was born on August 26, 1945 in Cass City, and lived in Tuscola County until moving to Saginaw some twenty years ago. She was a graduate of Vassar High School and Delta College. Until her retirement, she was employed as a phlebotomist at Saginaw General Hospital and more recently at Covenant Harrison. Paula enjoyed gardening, crafts, boating, Nascar, online chatrooms, and being with her family. In recent years, she was a part-time sales associate at Lovers Lane. Paula is survived by two children, Darlene ( Mike) Kozak of Linwood and Jeffery (Tina) Hecht of Vassar; her grandchildren, Kevin Russel and Trenton Jeffery Hecht, Beth (Jim) Amy of Roscommon, Dana (Chad) Creevy of Zeeland; five great-grandchildren, her mother, Clara Halabis of Caro; her siblings, Allen (Gale) Nowland of Atlantic Beach, Florida, Kay (Eldon) Hutchinson of Unionville, Tom Nowland of Caro and Mark (Melissa) Halabis of Cass City; an uncle, Harold (Norma) Ruppal of Akron; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter J. Halabis; a sister-in-law, Carol Nowland; and her beloved dog, Hanna. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Friday, December 1, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James Perry officiating. In accordance with Paulas wishes, cremation will follow the funeral. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Paula Nowland family discretionary fund, c/o Jeffery Hecht, 2786 S.
